Pumpkin Patching!

Growing up we always went to pumpkin patches to get our pumpkins in the fall time.

It's something I've always wanted to do with my family.

And tonight I finally got my husband to go!

Yippee!!

However,

I'm an IDIOT and forgot cash so we weren't able to buy anything haha but we still had fun!

I love doing things as a little family :)

Don't they both look thrilled to be there?

Things You Can Say In A Baby Voice....

So just recently I've actually listened to the things I've been saying to Jackson.

I realized that most of them only work because I am saying them to a baby in a baby voice.

If I were saying them in a normal adult human voice they probably wouldn't be acceptable.

{Do any of you mommies feel like a complete IDIOT after you get through saying something to your little one just to make them smile?}

So.

Here are some things that you could say in a baby voice to a munchkin,

but not so much to an adult in a normal human voice:

"I'm going to eat you"

or

"I'm going to eat your face"

"You are so fat!"

"I'm going to get you"

"I'm going to get your naked bum!"

 {Okay stop those thoughts. BABY BUMS ARE ADORABLE}

"You have such a stinky booty!"

"I'm going to eat all your toes"

And then who could forget the phrases I say that make absolutely no sense 

such as...

"a-goo"

"bleh bleh bleh"

"brrrrrrrr"

 "ahh ma ma ma ma ma MA!"

What is wrong with me?

How About Sleeping For A Change?

This is a rant.

There will be no pictures, because this post doesn't deserve it.

For the past 3 nights Jackson has woken up at about 4 am screaming, and he wont go to bed till about 10 or 11 pm.

And to top it off he's decided he's going to boycott his naps during the day.

Exhausted.

Yesterday was especially terrible because the night before I worked till midnight

Then had to finish my homework.

Then woke up at 4 to a screaming child.

Then was at school from 7:45am-6:15 pm

Then worked from 6:45pm-10pm

Then finally got my son down at 11pm

Then woke up again at 4 to a screaming baby.

Lovely

And what's funny is whenever it happens to come up and I tell people how sucky my child is at sleeping,

they feel the need to tell me how their perfect angel baby has been sleeping through the night at about a month old.

Yeah.

Uh kinda makes me want to throw a rock at you.

I don't know what makes women want to say that kind of stuff to an already tired and EXHAUSTED mother, but I guess you gotta show off the goods when you can.

Oi

I think it's time for my husband to take me on a date.

Hint Hint.

6 Months

So.

This is late.

I know, but I've been so busy taking everyone elses pictures that taking Jackson's this month got put on the back burner.

Which is definitely okay for us and our bank account 

:)

I've been meaning to do these for WEEKS

but something always came up.

I wanted to do them outside in the grass in this cute new onsie I got him with that nice golden sunset light 

didn't happen.

So this morning I was like ah crap you're almost 7 months I better just do this.

My mom re organized his room whens he was here so I couldn't find his brown blanket that i've been using for these pictures so oh well 

We made do.

And boy was I pleased with the result

{and no I didn't pose him for the bottom ones. He fell like that and I was laughing so hard it kept him entertained enough to stay like that. Awesome kid eh?}

And the crown jewel...

Grandpa says he was put together in sections.

Probably true.

Funny thing is he is in the 70th percentile for weight so yes folks that means he is average.

So that raises the question "what is above average"...

At 6 months I am...

-18.5 lb and 26.5 in long

- I've started to scoot on my belly, but I only do it when mommy and daddy aren't looking

-I can sit up like a pro

-I eat solids like a champ...clearly

-A new discovery is I can scream really loudly

-I think burps are funny

-I have said the word poop 3 times now (Of course I think it was just two sounds put together, and he has no idea what he said)

-I sleep through the night mostly always

-I love to arch my back

-I LOVE to play with people's faces

-I am mostly happy as a clam

We love our little chunk :)

A Quick Post

So as I was updating my Photography blog I decided to clean this one up a bit.

You like?

Jackson has now hit 6 months.

Holy COW where has the time gone!?

And I have been sooo busy lately taking everyone else's pictures,

(which I really don't mind)

that I have yet to actually take Jackson's real 6 month pictures.

But here are some fun ones from things that have just been happening as of late.

And they are all within days of his 6 month mark.

He really hasn't changed much within the past week so it will suffice for now.

oh how he loves his daddy.

That turd gives him all sorts of sweets.

Usually I get mad at him, but this one was kind of funny...

so

I took a few pictures.

The kid LOVES sugar.

We are in trouble.

And then the other day I walked into Jackson's bedroom to see if he was awake and this is what I found

So OF COURSE I had to run and get my camera

We still are just lovin on our little man!

There's No Place Like Home.

I hate making this blog post because it means i'm not there anymore.

Ugh.

Past tense.

We had SO much fun!

10 days of no responsibilities (minus Jackson of course)

It was great!

We surprised my little sister Lindsay which was awesome.

This is how it went down:

Dad walks in with Jackson

Lindsay: "Where did you get that baby?"

Dad: "Oh just down the street"

Lindsay: "Oh for a minute I thought it was Jackson..."

Dad: "Haha no"

Lindsay thinks about it for a minute

Lindsay: "Wait that is Jackson! Stop it i'm gonna cry!"

And then we walked in.

Haha it was perfect!

I got to see some great friends I hadn't seen in a while, and they got to meet my little pride and joy :)

We were also lucky to have Devon's parents and grandma visit us while we were there.

They just took a pit stop on their way home from Texas.

Jackson got to meet his great grandma for the very first time!

So of course I HAD to get a few pictures :)

We LOVED getting to see them!

Usually when I go to Kansas I book myself up the wazoo with photoshoots, but this time I limited myself to one.

I know we could have used the extra money, and don't get me wrong I love taking pictures for people but it was SOOO NICE to just relax instead of work the whole time.

I actually got pictures of our vacation on my camera and not just my phone this time! haha

The first day we were there we got to see Lindsay preform after band camp

(she's not in the band she's in drill team)

Jackson even got to dance with her on the field!

Except I used my dad's camera to take pictures of that so unfortunately I don't have any of those.

It was SO FREAKING HOT! Yuck humidity

And of course she has glittery pink sunglasses

And then here is a picture of my mom doing what she did best this trip.

And the rest of the trip was just awesome.

We played lots of games, stayed up really late, and shopped till we dropped.

Dad and Devon even got some man time and went to see a Sporting KC game which Devon LOVED.

Soccer is like his favorite sport so that was probably the highlight of his vacation :)

5 Months

My handsome baby boy is 5 months old as of yesterday!

We are so lucky to have him with us

(even though he has started teething and is a wee bit of a terror at times)

Cutest freakin onsie am I right!?

At 5 Months I am:

-Rolling over like a pro! Except I forgot how to get from my tummy to my back and have to have mommy or daddy rescue me at times.

-Smiling, giggling, and talking non stop

-Can stand being in my jumperoo a bit longer than usual

-Eating rice cereal like a champ! Mommy can't feed it to me fast enough!

-Putting EVERYTHING in my mouth including my feet sometimes

-Getting taller and taller by the day (although mommy doesn't have my stats for this post)

-Loving food and getting chunkier and chunkier

I mean have you seen my cheeks? :)

-Also when I am in a good mood I laugh at just about everything and anything

And this right here is one of his favorite things.

Devon will tickle his tummy with his face and he screams with laughter

It is SO CUTE

We love our little guy and we're excited for our summer together!
