There's No Place Like Home.

I hate making this blog post because it means i'm not there anymore.

Ugh.
Past tense.

We had SO much fun!
10 days of no responsibilities (minus Jackson of course)
It was great!

We surprised my little sister Lindsay which was awesome.
This is how it went down:
Dad walks in with Jackson
Lindsay: "Where did you get that baby?"
Dad: "Oh just down the street"
Lindsay: "Oh for a minute I thought it was Jackson..."
Dad: "Haha no"
Lindsay thinks about it for a minute
Lindsay: "Wait that is Jackson! Stop it i'm gonna cry!"
And then we walked in.
Haha it was perfect!

I got to see some great friends I hadn't seen in a while, and they got to meet my little pride and joy :)
We were also lucky to have Devon's parents and grandma visit us while we were there.
They just took a pit stop on their way home from Texas.
Jackson got to meet his great grandma for the very first time!
So of course I HAD to get a few pictures :)

We LOVED getting to see them!

Usually when I go to Kansas I book myself up the wazoo with photoshoots, but this time I limited myself to one.
I know we could have used the extra money, and don't get me wrong I love taking pictures for people but it was SOOO NICE to just relax instead of work the whole time.
I actually got pictures of our vacation on my camera and not just my phone this time! haha

The first day we were there we got to see Lindsay preform after band camp
(she's not in the band she's in drill team)
Jackson even got to dance with her on the field!
Except I used my dad's camera to take pictures of that so unfortunately I don't have any of those.

It was SO FREAKING HOT! Yuck humidity

And of course she has glittery pink sunglasses

And then here is a picture of my mom doing what she did best this trip.
Showing off Jackson
to everyone she came in contact with

That is one proud grandma

And the rest of the trip was just awesome.
We played lots of games, stayed up really late, and shopped till we dropped.

Dad and Devon even got some man time and went to see a Sporting KC game which Devon LOVED.
Soccer is like his favorite sport so that was probably the highlight of his vacation :)

Here are some random pictures from the rest of our trip!

Playing on Aunt Marissa's giant stuffed dog

Just hanging around with Grandpa after taking some pictures of his painting

HAHA! He loved sucking on her nose

So Vogue

Laughing with Aunt Lindsay

Can we go back already?

5 Months

My handsome baby boy is 5 months old as of yesterday!

We are so lucky to have him with us
(even though he has started teething and is a wee bit of a terror at times)

Cutest freakin onsie am I right!?

At 5 Months I am:

-Rolling over like a pro! Except I forgot how to get from my tummy to my back and have to have mommy or daddy rescue me at times.

-Smiling, giggling, and talking non stop

-Can stand being in my jumperoo a bit longer than usual

-Eating rice cereal like a champ! Mommy can't feed it to me fast enough!

-Putting EVERYTHING in my mouth including my feet sometimes

-Getting taller and taller by the day (although mommy doesn't have my stats for this post)

-Loving food and getting chunkier and chunkier
I mean have you seen my cheeks? :)

-Also when I am in a good mood I laugh at just about everything and anything

And this right here is one of his favorite things.
Devon will tickle his tummy with his face and he screams with laughter

It is SO CUTE

We love our little guy and we're excited for our summer together!

While He Sleeps

Today has been rough.

To say the least.

I won't go into it because that's complainy

and that's annoying.

Some days are filled with words like:
cry, scream, mess, wet, hot, terrible, exhausted, tears, empty, nothing, WHY?

and on those days those words are the only ones you focus on.
Nothing good can come of today.

But then there is a calm.
and suddenly you can Relax

And you are able to focus on what blessings you have
When Jackson took a nap I was able to relax and refocus

While he sleeps
I noticed how at peace he is

I noticed his eyelashes and his chubby cheeks

I noticed his little wrist rolls
and his tiny fingers

I noticed how perfect he is
and even though he is now awake and has to sit on my lap while I type this to keep him from screaming
I love him.

and sometimes it takes complete silence to remember all of this

okay...that's a lie...

sometimes it takes complete silence, a bag of mini reeses, and a pepsi to remember all of this.

Just Life And The Little Moments

School is OVER

at least for the semester...

And it is great!

Let summer begin!!

I love being able to spend time with my little guys and just soaking up every little moment I can

Jackson loves to read!

Or at least he loves to look at the pictures while we read to him.

Ahh these little moments :)

It's kind of funny the things you start to miss when you know you can't be with your little one.

When I first had Jackson and it was just me and him all day everyday I was craving social interaction and just to be able to get out of the house!

So then I started school....
and work....
and was gone from 8 in the morning till 8 at night

and suddenly all I wanted to do was be home.

Funny how you always want what you can't have

haha
to be human I guess right?

I missed his smile and his giggles
I missed his big wide eyes when he found something interesting
I missed watching him learn and grow and figure out new things.

I missed even the not so fun stuff
like changing his diapers and his little cry
I missed everything

So I have really been trying to just absorb every minute of every day and try to remember when I am cleaning up a blow out, or falling asleep eating because I got no sleep the night before
that I could be gone again
all day every day

And honestly that seems to work

The main thing that I have missed are his little faces.

This kid LOVES to make faces just like I did when I was a baby

This was at my work's summer picnic which was AWESOME!

This one man...
And what has been AWESOME
is my mom is out here to pick up my sister

I may have made her stay for a bit longer
:)

but I really didn't have to pull her arm much

4 Months

Oh little man
You
are
so
CUTE!!

He is four months old (plus a week and a half...I've been a bit busy as of late)

and he just keeps getting more and more fun!!

At four months old I am...

-Weighing in at 14 lb and 8 ounces and 24.5 inches long
-I love to talk and laugh all the time
-I am really ticklish on my neck (especially when daddy rubs his scruff on it)
-I love to be held above people's heads and drool in their mouths. Specifically mommy's
-I can roll from my tummy to my back no problem, and I am SOOO close to being able to roll from my back to my tummy
-I have slept through the night multiple times now but prefer to do it when mom and dad leave me in my carseat
-I have learned how to do the pouty lip, and use it my advantage
-I also suck my thumb when mom isn't looking
-I grab EVERYTHING, and never want to sit down
-I put anything and everything that I can in my mouth
-I am still as cute as ever!

And he knows it!

CALLING ALL MOTHERS!

I want to do a photo project/series that involves mothers and their children.

So I need YOU!

And I mean ALL mothers
which means...
if you have young children that are still in diapers
if you have older children that drive you crazy
if you are an empty nester with children married off
if you have step children
if you have had a miscarriage and don't have children physically with you
(yes you are still a mother)
Pregnant women
etc.

so you get the jist

(and if you don't have children available to do the shoot with you THAT IS FINE!! I have need for women like you!!)

I am only available Friday mornings and Saturdays right now until school lets out
so if you are available in the Rexburg Idaho area let me know and we can try and set something up!
(I am also in the bountiful/centerville Utah area often so if you are from that area and are interested let me know, and if I am in your area I will let you know!)
(I might be going to Kansas this summer so if you are interested and from Kansas let me know as well and if I do end up going that direction I will try to work something out)

***Telling me you are interested does not guarantee you a slot. It depends on a lot of things, but I will try to do as many as i can/need***

PS If you do it there might be a free print involved :)

Message me on facebook or e-mail me at c.thielphoto@gmail.com to let me know if you are interested!!

3 Months

Our main man Jackson is 3 months old now!

Holy crap really!?

yes.
really.

He is getting so big, and chunky!
Which I don't mind because there is just so much more to love and kiss

(seriously though I think his cheeks might go raw with how much I kiss them)

(please don't judge the quality. I think it is the internet I am using. DANG IT!)

At 3 months I am...

-Weighing in at 12 lb 6 oz

-Cooing and talking so much

-I love to lift my eyebrows when something is interesting

-I smile a lot now which mommy loves

-Grandma Albrechtsen has given me a new nickname "action Jackson" which mommy finds unusual

- I LOVE my aunt Marissa (she might be my favorite)

-I laughed hard for the first time last week

-I am ticklish under my armpit and now I think it is funny

-I am officially into 3-6 month clothes

-I have enough overalls to clothe an army of infants

-I usually only wake up once a night

-I have started to grab and hold onto things
(mommy's hair is no exception)

-I love when my mommy reads to me!
(I think I might be a book worm)

He is just growing growing growing!
We love to watch him grow and develop!
