3 Months

Our main man Jackson is 3 months old now!

Holy crap really!?

yes.

really.

He is getting so big, and chunky!

Which I don't mind because there is just so much more to love and kiss

(seriously though I think his cheeks might go raw with how much I kiss them)

(please don't judge the quality. I think it is the internet I am using. DANG IT!)

At 3 months I am...

-Weighing in at 12 lb 6 oz

-Cooing and talking so much

-I love to lift my eyebrows when something is interesting

-I smile a lot now which mommy loves

-Grandma Albrechtsen has given me a new nickname "action Jackson" which mommy finds unusual

- I LOVE my aunt Marissa (she might be my favorite)

-I laughed hard for the first time last week

-I am ticklish under my armpit and now I think it is funny

-I am officially into 3-6 month clothes

-I have enough overalls to clothe an army of infants

-I usually only wake up once a night

-I have started to grab and hold onto things

(mommy's hair is no exception)

-I love when my mommy reads to me!

(I think I might be a book worm)

He is just growing growing growing!

We love to watch him grow and develop!

What A Blessing!

So this weekend our sweet little guy got blessed 

(Babies in our church don't get baptized they get blessed, and then at age 8 get baptized)

We had so much family come in for it, and it was AWESOME!

So many babysitters (haha)

and so much fun. We were so sad to see them all go

My mom is staying for another week to help out with our crazy week

(I am working almost 40 hours this week on top of school, and Devon has his play every night this week)

2 Months!

Jackson is 2 months as of last Wednesday.

Yes I'm just now sitting down to post about it.

He was a lot better for the pictures this go round, but I still have yet to get a good smile on camera.

At 10 lb 5 oz and 21 1/2 in long here's what I'm up to at 2 months:

-I'm now sleeping in 4-5 hour intervals at night which makes mommy and daddy very happy. Although they do wish I would sleep even longer.

Jeesh people when will it be good enough!?

-I've got some serious chunk goin on in my arms, legs, and cheeks now.

-I smile a lot now, however I like to stop as soon as mom whips her camera out.

It's really fun.

-I've found my voice and love to make cute little noises

-I laughed for the first time today with my eyes open!

-I am now finally fitting into my 0-3 month onsies
However, I'm still in newborn diapers and pants.
(0-3 mo pants just don't stay up very well)

-I am now officially making faces when I poop.

Mom is a little too excited about this new development.

And we still just love him to bits!!

Our family comes out in a little less than 3 weeks for his blessing, and we can hardly wait!!

Yeah.

I gotta give myself mad props for what I did last night.

Lately it has felt like Devon and never get to actually spend time together

(that's what we get for having a baby and going to school I guess)

Whenever we do spend time together or actually go on a date all it is is a movie at home or we go out to eat.

Yeah.

Lame.

So I decided to be a little creative.

I sent Devon off to have a play date with one of his friends while I set up for our awesome surprise date.

1. My sister helped me set up our tent in our living room for a romantic fort

Ta-Da!

(The stupid lights kept falling)

2. I set up for the scavanger hunt.

Yes I sent him on a scavenger hunt down "memory lane"

(insert cheesy "awww" here)

a. Before he left I stuck a letter in the glove box of the car directing him (in rhyme) to go to the place where we had our first date

which led him to this:

A new tie to wear that night and the next clue

b. The next clue led him to wear we had our first kiss

Which had some gum because it was where we had our first kiss

c. This led him to the third and final location

The reason why there is a camera is because when we were dating Devon got this great date idea 

(haha)

If you have ever seen the movie Yes Man you will see where he got it from.

We were going to take pictures while we jogged so he bought some disposable cameras

Well that didn't pan out so we just went on a regular date but still took pictures with one of them.

Eventually this became kind of a tradition.

We would bring a disposable camera with us on our dates.

We haven't done it since.

So I decided to bring it back

3. Then I rushed home to make a romantic dinner 

It was just spaghetti but hey it at least tasted good!

I told him to call me when he was on his way home and told him to look in the glovebox

after he got all done with the hunt he came home, we ate, we danced in our kitchen (which I love), then we watched a movie in our fort.

All while my sister had Jackson

Score!

It was really fun, and I hope to have more fun and creative date nights like this.

Sometimes I think we just get going with life and forget that we need to have some fun every once and a while.

If you have a chance to do something like this, I highly recommend it!

Catching Up

It's been a few weeks since I posted last.

We've been to Utah and back AND started school up again.

Stressful is the word for the past few weeks.

We'll start with Utah.

We went there in between semesters and to pick up my little sister.

SO GLAD SHE IS HERE

Jackson got to meet his great grandmas and had a blast.

I was soo mad at myself

Everytime we went to my grandma Arbuckles house I forgot my camera so I was forced to use my phone.

And I can't find the picture of me and her for some reason. 

They just loved her, and he loved them.

We also got to see some good friends from Kansas.

Jenni and Courtney are pretty much my second mom and second sister.

And of course I was DUMB and didn't get any pictures

Fast forward a few weeks and today we took Jackson on his first picnic.

This was after Jackson spit up all down her shirt.

Aunt Marissa took him down his first slide haha I was freaking out a bit.

I love having my sister out here!

She and I work out every week, and if i'm not a beast by the end of the semester I'm gonna be mad!

Getting Old

Yesterday was my big man's 25th birthday!

and Friday my little man was 5 weeks old!

Everyone around me is getting so old :)

Yesterday was a pretty chill day.

Devon got a new nerd game from me and my family and a Captain America shirt from me :)

I'm pretty much an awesome wife.

I made him eggs for breakfast, fajita's for dinner, and german chocolate cake for dessert.

For those of you that know me, this was a pretty big feat.

I don't cook.

I am not good at it.

At all.

However I did make the fajitas from scratch

(no mix, go me!)

And the german chocolate cake frosting from scratch

(again, go me!)

The fajitas were a success.

as you can see from all the mess on his face.

Seriously this kid destroyed those fajitas.

I sooo wish I would have got a photo of him eating them it was interesting to say the least.

And I got an excuse to use my cook glass cake thinggy I got for my wedding.

 First failure of the night:

forgot to put candles in the cake before we cut it up

Failure number 2:

Jackson's onsie says "my dad is super"

I thought it was appropriate for the day, but Jackson wasn't having it, and then I made Devon not in focus.

Fantastic photographer let me tell ya.

I think i'm going to chalk it up to the fact that I was running on very little sleep.

Yeah, we'll go with that.

All in all Devon had a good day which is what I was hoping for.

This morning the little man was being too stinkin' cute after his bath so I snapped a few pictures :)

I LOVE those little feet!!

Some days are so hard with not having enough sleep and all that fun stuff that comes with being a mom, but my goodness I just look at those little blue eyes and can't help but think how lucky I am! 

One Month!

So today is April 1st which means our little man is 1 month old!

I can hardly believe it has been a whole month already!

I have planned to do monthly pictures of him to see how he grows, so I was super excited to start today

However he was just not having it

at all.

so the 6 pictures he did let me take were all of him screaming his head off.

Here's to hoping next month is a little better

What I am up to at 1 month:

-I am extremely fussy all of a sudden (However we discovered today that gas drops are his drug of choice, awesome!)

-I like listening to the piano, and Coldplay (score!)

-I can't go to sleep at night without a little snuggle time with mommy or daddy first

-I am still too little for most of my clothes

-I giggle about once a week now (it's hilarious)

-Mom has yet to get a good smile on camera. I am really good at waiting until she puts her camera down.
- I am extremely good at peeing all over mom, dad, myself, and anything else that happens to be in range.
(I even shot my firehose right up my grandma's nose. Nailed it!)
